By popular request

Ok maybe not by 'popular request', but by Sable's request...fine, she didn't actually ask for them, but she let me know clearly that she did not get to taste the Candied Yam w/Toasted Marshmallow cuppies. She had a bad head cold, so even though she technically ate them, she had no idea what they tasted like; it could have been a blob of dampened cardboard with shaving cream on top for all she knew.

I also made up a small batch of pb&j and tinkered with the frosting a bit. I like how they turned out- this time they have the correct color. A light lavender color, perfect with the peanut butter cake. Now they really look like pb&j. The color didn't come out very well in the photos, but in life they look great!

  1. Sproingy cardboard mmmmm

No but seriously, now that I have my sense of taste returned, they were pretty amazing. candied yams were the perfect smooth yammy sweetness with a bit of savory goodness (like how carrot cake seems like it would be weird but is actually totally delicious) and the marshmallow top was cute too.

I was trying to put my finger on just what the PB&J frost tasted like to me, and the closest thing I could come up with was like raspberry jelly from a donut, but the good fresh-baked kind that you probably pay too much for but you pay it because it's way better than any jelly donut at Dunkin Donuts...

    Too much analysis?

What it boils down to is: more please!
